This morning I woke up once again to grey skies. Just as I thought spring had finally stuck the long sunny walks I had planned out all seemed to disappeared into thin air.
I have always been a little bit rubbish at being the ‘let’s go walking in the rain and embrace the frost’ kind of mum. I prefer to enjoy a hot chocolate buried under a blanket or 5. However with three children that are full of endless amounts of energy this isn’t possible. They need to get out, they need to run off some energy and explore their surroundings putting those inquisitive little minds to the test.
I have really embraced getting out and about more with the girls over the last couple of years; I have learnt that when it comes to my daughters they are genuinely just as happy stomping around a field finding sticks as they would be at some extravagant theme park. So this ‘cold season’ I didn’t want to do my usual hibernation I wanted to continue our adventures and fun.
So that’s what I did, and with the help from Blacks we have been enjoying our adventures in all conditions.
The thought of stepping out, being cold getting wet and dealing with whinging kids didn’t really appeal so what’s that age old saying you hear? “There’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing”. I feel like my grandmother saying that but it is so true. With the right gear there is no reason we can’t still enjoy the same days out when the weather isn’t 100%. We live in Britain if we constantly waiting for perfect weather we would get no where.
The Carrock 3 in 1 Jacket by Berghaus (available exclusively at Blacks), has been an absolute god send to the girls, not only do they look super cute they are also really practical. The 3-in-1 design is so versatile ensuring they are perfect for all conditions. The AQ2™ fabric exterior will shield from even the toughest of downpours, whilst the removable interior fleece provides lightweight warmth. From a parents point of view they are really light weight making them easy to store and carry around (as us parents often end up doing). It is also great to just have one coat for all year round, I am a bit of a coat hoarder with my daughters having ones for cold weather, wet weather, warm/wet weather etc. The list goes on and on but lately I find myself not needing all of the others, this coat really does see you through all conditions.
These coats were provided to share our experience in and honest review, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
