A Snappy, Silly and Brilliant Family Theatre Trip: The Enormous Crocodile at The Lighthouse – Poole

Recently, I took my five-year-old daughter to see The Enormous Crocodile at the Lighthouse, Poole. Based on the classic Roald Dahl story, the show brings the mischievous and greedy crocodile to life in a way that feels exciting, funny and completely captivating for young children. From the moment the show began, my daughter was glued to the stage. There was so much energy packed into the performance that it never lost her attention for a second and that’s no small achievement when you are entertaining a theatre full of little ones. What really made the show special was how interactive it…

A Magical Family Night Out: Cinderella Pantomime at Bournemouth Pavilion

One of my absolute favourite Christmas traditions is grabbing the family and heading to the pantomime, and this year’s Cinderella at the Bournemouth Pavilion did not disappoint! Super fun, full of sparkle, and packed with those laugh-out-loud moments that get both the kids and us grown-ups giggling in equal measure. If you’re looking for something festive to do as a family, this is definitely one to put on your list. The show runs until Sunday 4th January 2026, so there’s still plenty of time to grab tickets and enjoy the performance. Cinderella is one of those classic panto stories we…

Review: Chicago at Bournemouth Pavillion

Chicago is one of my all-time favourite musical, I used to watch it over and over when I was younger on VCR (remember those?) so seeing it live on stage was long overdue. We made a proper girly night of it—starting with a pre-show dinner at Wagamama’s before heading over to the Bournemouth Pavilion. We popped into the press event before hand because we just had to get a pic with the feather boas—it was too fun to resist! The show is running at the Pavilion until Saturday, April 5, and it boasts an incredible cast. Strictly Come Dancing’s Janette…

A Fantasmagorical Evening: ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ at Bournemouth Pavilion | REVIEW

There’s nothing quite like a trip to the theatre, especially when it’s to see a show as beloved as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! We had the pleasure of attending the production at the Bournemouth Pavilion last night, and what a fantastic night it was. Before the show, we were invited to the press event, where we were treated to drinks, delicious cakes, sweets, and plenty of fun photo opportunities. And they even had a replica of the iconic Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car, brought in from the Beaulieu Motor Museum! What a showstopper, we even grabbed a little selfie with…

Review: The Rocky Horror Show at Bournemouth Pavilion – A First-Timer’s Experience

The Rocky Horror Show is one of those iconic musicals that has stood the test of time. First performed in 1973, Richard O’Brien’s legendary rock ‘n’ roll show has been entertaining audiences for over 50 years, with its outrageous characters, catchy tunes, and cult following. But, believe it or not, I had never seen the show or the film before, so I had no idea what to actually expect when I went to see it at the Bournemouth Pavilion last night. I’d heard of the audience participation, the extravagant outfits, and the sheer fun of it all—but it surpassed all…

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the West End

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is well into its forth and final year on stage at the West End and the girls and I were lucky enough to be invited along to see the award-winning show before it leaves Theatre Royal Drury Lane. When I received the invitation I was so so excited sod the kids I was going to see a big show in the West End for the first time ever! I know in 24 years that is just utter madness, I have always wanted to go and see a show but it’s just never happened. Children under 3 aren’t…
