An A-Z of fun summer activities for children

Hi, my names Amy and I am a compulsive list maker. I have lists on the fridge, I have lists on my phone, I have notebooks just for lists and today whilst writing a list for the summer I thought I’d create an A-Z fun summer activities for children in Dorset to give you some summer fun inspiration. A is for Arts & Crafts – we love a good craft or some messy play. I am dusting off the tuff spot and we are getting busy this summer, you guessed it I have a list of crafts and activities ready to…

Weymouth Sealife Adventure Park

A little while ago I announced we are ambassadors for Weymouth Sealife adventure park, having been in the past and it being just a short drive from us I jumped at the chance – the girls just love visiting all the fish and penguins! There is so much more to the park than seeing some fish, on a trip the other week we took full advantage of the sunny weather and the girls had a ton of fun splashing and playing in the splash zone. It’s a great little spot to stop off for a picnic too with lots of…

Bike Riding At Hengistbury Head

We have been blessed with some absolutely gorgeous weather recently – hope it sticks around for half term! With both our eldest’s busy at school Claire from The Witt Family and I took the girls off for a little bike ride and picnic last week at Hengistbury Head, a real beauty spot in Dorset made even more beautiful when the sun is shining. As per usual I took a bunch of photos and want to share some of my faves! Bella was spiderman’d up to the max as always. The girls loved it the trail from the car park to…

Our first paddle of the year

I feel so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country, I really don’t think I would ever be able to move away. I love the slow relaxed pace of Dorset, all the amazing things there are for children and the picture perfect spots we have for days out and fun in the sun. But the thing I love most about where I live is the miles of beautiful golden sand that are just minutes from our house, when summer hits we spend so much time on the beach, making castles and even having a little splash in the…

Winchester Science Centre

Yesterday the girls and I headed off to Winchester Science Centre, I’ve been to the centre once before for a blogging conference and although we just quickly walked through to the conference room I thought it looked so much fun and one day I would have to take the girls. As it’s the Easter holidays we made plans to go with my friend and her two children, the kids have all known each other since day 1 but don’t get too see much of each other since they have all started school and things, so it was nice to get together.…

Thursday Fun Day’s – Oceanarium

Thursday’s are one of my most favourite day’s. Very random day to choose I know but it is the one day of the week that I have both Bella and Lottie off nursery and clear from all groups or clubs, it’s our free day to just go out and do something fun! Since Maisy started school in September I have been shocked at just how much I have missed her and having last minute mid week family days out. Bella will be starting school herself this September coming to I am vowing to have a fun day every Thursday, ideally…

Outdoor Winter Adventures

Anyone who knows me well enough will know I don’t do the coldness. I used to spend my pre-children winter’s eating bad foods and drinking hot drinks dreaming about spring and summer coming back. This is to a certain extent how I do still spend my winter’s but as you all know with three small children day after day stuck in is not a great deal of fun. There is also only so much soft play one can take and if you’re feeling the pinch from christmas still, it can be an expensive couple of hours! With the January blues in…
