Thursday’s are one of my most favourite day’s. Very random day to choose I know but it is the one day of the week that I have both Bella and Lottie off nursery and clear from all groups or clubs, it’s our free day to just go out and do something fun!
Since Maisy started school in September I have been shocked at just how much I have missed her and having last minute mid week family days out. Bella will be starting school herself this September coming to I am vowing to have a fun day every Thursday, ideally I want us to do something different each week and document it here.
So this week it was a beautiful day (makes a nice change) and we headed down into Bournemouth to visit the Oceanarium.
The Oceanarium have a great deal on this month for half price entry to all local visitors, I didn’t even know so that was a nice surprise.
The Oceanarium isn’t massive you can go round and see it all easily in a couple of hours, but you can come and go as many times as you like in ones day, which is great for those maybe wanting to go down onto the beach or for lunch somewhere as well during the day.
They have some feeding displays throughout the day, we watched the otters – so cute.
The accessibility of the Oceanarium could be better the walk ways aren’t the widest if you come into the path of another push chair it is a bit of a squeeze and I may well have beat a few knee caps with my bag trying to get through (Sorry if they were your knee caps!)
We Found NEMOOO!!!
We visited the new penguin enclosure for the first time – I didn’t get any decent photos though little buggers were too fast for me but we loved them such a nice addition to the Oceanarium.
By the time we has seen everything and the kids had had a little play in the play area we went for a walk down on to the beach it was so warm, definitely feels like summer is coming and I am so excited. I hate the cold it makes me feel so lazy and uninspired bring me back the sun!!
By this time everyone including me was absolute starving so we headed up to Aruba for some lunch, Aruba is on the pier so has beautiful views across the beach and sea. It’s up a few flights of stairs which has no lift so I did nearly give up and go somewhere else but a helpful member of staff gave me a hand and carried the pushchair up for me. I am glad she did the food was delicious.
I opted for the swiss burger and highly recommend it was incredible, the girls had chicken strips and chips which they both wolfed down followed by a chocolate brownie with ice-cream which they reluctantly shared with me.
Fab day out – I wander where next week will take us!
