A Day Out With Thomas

As you guys know the girls and I love getting out and about, trying new things and seeing new places. A few weeks ago we were very kindly invited to go for a day out with Thomas on the Watercress line. For a few weeks of the year Thomas and Friends take over the Watercress line and the whole station transforms into an amazing family day out. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this day out but when we arrived I was so impressed to see all they had going on, the whole station was involved and the kids…

Andrewshayes Holiday Park; a half term Devon break

I left off in my last post in a packed car, singing to Moana as we headed from Cornwall to Devon for part two of our half term break. We arrived at Andrewshayes Holiday Park at about 8pm, all pretty exhausted from a busy day we wasted no time in unpacking our bits and getting a good night sleep. First impressions were great the caravan was immaculate, well equipped and had loads of storage. I was so excited to see we had been upgraded from a luxury 3 bed to a luxury 3 bed WITH HOT TUB! Well it took…

Rumsdale Cottage; a half term Cornish break

As you may have spotted on my social media a few weeks ago the girls, Scott and I headed west for a few days in the cornish countryside. I love Cornwall, it’s one of those places that brings back so many fond childhood memories for me. I spent many summers visiting my grandparents in Cornwall, it’s a place I want my children to experience as I did. We were invited down to Rumsdale Cottage by Cornish Traditional Cottages for a few days of family fun. Half term was so welcome; as much as I love having a routine the school…

Lottie Turns 3!

Saturday saw my littlest girl Lottie turn 3 years old! It’s quite crazy to think that this time three years ago I was at home cooing over my newborn with two toddlers and now I two children at school and my ‘baby’ is officially a toddler. A lot has changed in three years but we are all happy as ever. Lottie’s birthday celebrations started a lot earlier than I had hoped, she was awake at 1am telling me she was the birthday girl, jumping on me and asking if we could go down stairs yet. Excited is an understatement. Thankfully she…

National Trust Adventures – Corfe Castle

This weekend we pulled on our welly boots and headed over to Corfe Castle for our next National Trust adventure we needed to burn off some of that never ending energy my girls seem to have and Corfe Castle won their vote. I used to visit Corfe every year as a little girl, my grandparents always rented a cottage for a few weeks and it was lovely but I hadn’t been back for years and had yet to take the girls. From the car park there is a 10 minute walk to get up the the castle itself it’s a nice little…

National Trust Adventures – Hinton Ampner

I officially became a national trust member a few weeks ago; something I never thought I would be. This year the girls and I have found ourselves out and about enjoying  walking, exploring and picnics a hell of a lot more it just made sense to get a national trust membership. There are so many great places nearby to us which we were going to and paying for regularly, having the membership just gives us the freedom to pop to the ones locally when ever we fancy but it’s also made me think about setting our sights a little further…
