Tweens Christmas Gift Guide

Tweens; that awkward age between child and teen where what to buy for Christmas is actually really really tough.

The girls have definitely hit that age now and this year I have been totally stumped on what to buy for them. Of corse I have asked for their input; Maisy said ‘hmmm dunno’ and Bella asked only for a box of Forrero Rocher. Which was really helpful.

We have already decided we’re not going mad this Christmas, with me choosing not to return to work after maternity leave, a wedding to save for and hopefully an extension for 2022, we wanted to focus more on the whole Christmas period rather than just a day full of gifts.

We also thought it would be really nice addition for the girls to have some money this year to choose a gift for each other. We’re going to do it as a kind of Secret Santa, they each get a sister to buy for we will then set a spend limit (which we will provide) and then it’s completely up to them what the buy for each other and how the wrap it up etc. It’s little things like that which I think make Christmas more special.

But we will of corse still be getting them some little bits and bobs and I have been asked so much over on my Instagram for what we’re getting the girls so I have put together a little gift guide to give some ideas.

First up the Go Glam U-nique Nail Salon, this is something that my girls have been LOVING lately. It’s a really fab little ‘salon’ that uses sticker stamps to create really cool nail art. If your children are anything like mine and love playing about with make up and things they will have great fun with this.

The AGFA Realikids Instant Cam, this is a really awesome camera that the girls have been having a ton of fun with the last couple of weeks. It’s a little different to your standard polaroid as the instant pics are in black and white and print onto thermal paper. If you are looking for a polaroid the Fujifilm Instax mini is great for little ones.

How about an experience? Buy a gift have a ton of different experiences that are great gifts for tweens. I have a Go Ape experience for the girls as a joint present which I think they’re going to love!

A voucher for a movie night complete with a hot water bottle and hot chocolate. A really nice, and inexpensive gift idea. I picked these up in B&M and I think it makes a nice little gift even more special to add a little home make redeemable token.

Maisy’s new Christmas jumper is probably one of my favourite things ever! She’s getting bit ‘cool’ for a jumper with a big reindeer on it so I loved this as a bit of an alternative Christmas jumper it’s from a brand called Rocket & Rose who have a great selection of quirky Christmas jumpers.

A practical one but my girls always love new lunch boxes and water bottles – especially if they’re filled with a bunch of their favourite Christmas chocy’s! This leopard lunch bag and bottle from SMASH is super cute.

Six Second Scribbles is a our current favourite family game, it’s so simple. You get a card with 10 items on and have 1 minute to draw as many as you can then someone has to guess what your drawings are of. Such a simple concept but SO fun. Lots of laughs have been had lately playing this one.

Time for a pamper? Again these bits are just from B&M but the make great little stocking fillers. Maisy loves Sloth’s so this was perfect for her and little eye pads or face masks are always great fun.

Christmas wouldn’t be the same with out some arts and crafts gifts and Mache Magic is a a great one to keep the kids busy. They can make their own paper-maché gifts using just loo roll and water!

A Beautiful denim jacket from Kookoo But Kind. The jackets are 100% unique and designed to incorporate as many recycled elements as possible. Choose either a Be kind or Endangered theme and they will do the rest. They make for such a gorgeous unique gift!

Other things I am keeping my eye out for is a tumble matt because the girls are constantly doing all sorts of back flips and summersaults. If any of you have any suggestions for a good one I would love to hear them.
