Since Maisy started school a few months ago she has become obsessed with writing and creating books for us to then read at bed time.
It’s so lovely I remember doing thing’s just like this when I was little I know Bella may be my little mini me but Maisy definitely has more of my personality.
Today she came home very excited with a blank ‘book’ (piece of paper folded in half) she hadn’t had enough time to finish writing the story for tonight so she bought it home to finish off.
I loved watching as her little creative mind worked so hard to write her story and fill up every inch of the pages with her little doodles and drawings.
She has a real thirst for learning and sucks everything up like a sponge, often emerging from school with a huge smile with a sticker for good writing.
It’s been a fair few years since I was at school so I have been looking for way to encourage Maisy with her education at home in a fun way – I don’t want to over do it with her so creating little books like this is great she find’s it fun but is still practising her reading and writing.
STABILO recently sent us out a great hand writing pencil – the EASY graph part of the Early writers range the pencil is designed to help children find the correct comfortable grip as the learn to write. The triangular shape and non-slip grip moulds ensure a relaxed hand posture, she really loves writing with her ‘special pencil’.
We also received some for the STABILO Woody 3 in 1 pencils, these big chunky pencils are perfect for little hands, lottie thinks they are great!
They are three pencils in one so can be used as a regular colouring pencil, water colour or as a wax crayon and the bright vivid colours are so appealing to toddlers. They can also be used on all sorts of different surfaces – even glass – but are still wipe clean which is just what us parent’s need!
Little artists at work.
STABILO are also giving my readers the chance to win some of these great colouring pencils. I have three packets of six to give away, they will make a perfect stocking filler this christmas to be in with the chance of winning just enter the gleam widget below.
Good luck!
