Finding a family-friendly restaurant that is loved by all of my children can be a challenge. But one place I know for sure that everyone loves is Cosmo in Bournemouth. It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet experience and at £21.99 per person it’s also great value!
As a family with four children, we have visited Cosmo many times over the years, and it has become one of our favourite dining spots when ever we’re having a little mini celebration. On this occasion we were celebrating back to school and surviving those first few weeks without actually loosing any items of school clothes yet!

A World of Flavours
One of the standout features of Cosmo for us is the variety of cuisine on offer. This is not just your typical buffet serving a few standard dishes; Cosmo offers an extensive array of global flavours that take you on a culinary journey across continents. Whether you’re craving Asian, European, or even Mediterranean food, Cosmo delivers it all under one roof.
I always dive straight into the Chinese and Japanese section, the fresh sushi selection is always a hit with me and my eldest daughter. They have everything from salmon sashimi to California rolls. And the Asian offerings don’t stop there, Cosmo also features crispy duck pancakes, various dim sum, Thai curries, and a vast selection of stir-fried noodles and rice. For those craving something spicier, there’s a well-stocked Indian food section with flavourful curries, naan bread, and samosas, all cooked to perfection, my husband loves the curries here.

If you’re more into Western-style cuisine, you won’t be disappointed. Cosmo also serves up a range of European classics, from freshly made pizzas and pastas to succulent roast meats, Yorkshire puddings, and even a carvery section.
This versatility is one of the things that makes Cosmo so appealing for us as a family—there really is s something for everyone. My youngest loves the pizza and nuggets she refilled her plate three times! Turns out starting school is hungry work.
For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert station at Cosmo is a dream come true. The chocolate fountain is always a hit with my kids, who enjoy dipping marshmallows and sweets into the flowing chocolate. There are also cakes, ice creams, and a selection of fresh fruits, ensuring a sweet end to any meal.

Family-Friendly Atmosphere
One of the reasons Cosmo has become a family favourite for us is its welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant is spacious, and despite being a buffet-style setup, it never feels overly crowded or hectic. The seating arrangements are comfortable, and there’s plenty of room for a large family like ours. The staff are so friendly, they were always quick to clear empty plates and chatted away to the kids about the different foods on offer.
As I mentioned the pricing is also so reasonable, especially considering the wide range of dishes on offer. Children’s prices are typically lower than adults, and with the selection available, you’re bound to get your money’s worth. At £21.99 per person, Cosmo is great value, considering the quality and diversity of the food. For larger families like mine, this is an affordable option for dining out without compromising on quality.
Speaking of quality, you may assume that the buffet style means a sacrifice on freshness but Cosmo proves this assumption wrong. Every dish we’ve tried at Cosmo has been packed with flavour, fresh, and well cooked. The ingredients taste high-quality, and despite the wide range of dishes, none of them feel like afterthoughts. The restaurant places great emphasis on maintaining the authenticity of the cuisines they serve. Whether it’s the rich and creamy butter chicken from the Indian section or the tender beef teriyaki from the Asian grill, the dishes are made with attention to detail.
Even picky eaters will find something to enjoy, and it’s great to know that when dining at Cosmo, we’re not only getting variety but also quality. The buffet is frequently replenished, ensuring that dishes don’t sit around for too long, and everything is served hot and fresh.
A Place the Kids Love
Every time we suggest going to Cosmo, our four kids are thrilled. The novelty of being able to pick and choose from such a large variety of food is so exciting for them, they love to try new things and it’s great to see them trying new cuisines.
For us, it’s a relief to have a dining spot that everyone enjoys. So whether you’re looking for a restaurant for a special occasion or just a casual meal out, Cosmo is a great option in Bournemouth.
Thanks for having us!
