Poole Christmas Maritime Light Trail

Poole’s charming light trail winds through the town centre down to the quay, featuring festive displays and illuminated buildings that add a twinkling warmth to those historic streets. 2024  is said to feature a number of impressive light installations, including a galleon, walk-through lantern and bauble, an anchor as well as Christmas tree installations including the 13 metre blue sealife tree in Falkland Square, plus a marine ‘ceiling of light’ featuring fish and starfish! 

  • Dates:  23rd November 2024 to 1st January 2025
  • Price: Free
  • Top Tip: Visit on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowds, and don’t forget to check out Poole Dolphin shopping centre for some Christmas shopping!

Christmas Tree Wonderland, Bournemouth 

Bournemouth’s Lower Gardens will come alive with lights, offering a mesmerising experience for families. The light displays stretch across the entire gardens, with glowing tunnels, sparkling trees, and interactive elements for kids to enjoy. The giant illuminated baubles and light arches are a hit every year!

  • Dates: 15th November 2024 to 31st December 2025
  • Price: Free
  • Top Tip: Head into the square and enjoy the Christmas market, there are so many great food options.

Runton Road Christmas Lights

Known for its community spirit, Runton Road in Poole is a local favourite. Each year, the residents of this street go above and beyond, turning their homes into a twinkling spectacle for everyone to enjoy. Perfect for a relaxed evening walk.

  • Dates: Throughout December 2024 Dates TBC
  • Price: Free (donations to local charities are welcome)
  • Top Tip: It’s best to park nearby and walk, as the road can get quite busy during peak times.

Illuminate 2024  at Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens

The Light Trail at Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens  was one of our favourites last year offering a unique Christmas experience. The gardens are transformed into a festive wonderland, with exotic plants illuminated by vibrant lights and magical displays. The trail also features live entertainment and a variety of food and drink options to keep everyone warm and festive.

Minterne Gardens Enchanted Light Trail

Nutley Farm Christmas Light Trail

Located near Dorchester, Nutley Farm offers a family-friendly Christmas light trail with a difference. Follow the tale of The Lost Reindeers in the farms beautifully lit festive display of twinkling lights, and fun, with lots of interactive features that are perfect for children. Besides the light trail, you can also visit and feed the reindeers and toast marshmallows! The perfect combination of festive fun and farm life.
