Feeding the family healthy and nutritious meals is massively important to me. I love spending my time cooking, getting the kids involved where possible and then siting down together to eat. My downfall now as a single parent is how I eat when they aren’t here. I find myself picking or simply having a sandwich for dinner a few times a week – it doesn’t really seem worth while dirtying a bunch of pans and spending an hour in the kitchen for just me.
It is such a bad habit to get myself into, I am someone who needs decent food in my system or I really start to flag and you see Hangry Amy come out – she’s not the best.
I was recently sent a box of Everdine meals to try out, I wasn’t expecting a lot I mean frozen food in the post – what’s that all about. My oh my was I in for a pleasant surprise.
Everdine is a subscription service that provide clean and wholesome meals straight to your door. Each meal has been created with high quality, fresh ingredients and cooked by the most amazing chefs Matt and Viresh whom actually trained in Michelin-starred restaurants.
I know Michelin style food to your door – where do I sign up.
What can I say two weeks ago I started out with 8 boxes in my freezer I am now down to one – they’re so good! The packaging is brilliant they have been sized to fit perfectly into the freezer, it was a little bit of a juggling act to fit eight in my always full freezer but I made it. I love how the packaging is easy to read, you can see exactly which dish is inside and how long to cook it for – no faffing!
As the boxes were doing their thing in the microwave my house was filled with these amazing aroma’s, you can tell they’ve put so much time and effort into developing these recipes to get the flavours just right. Each dish so bright, colourful and full of goodness. Freezing locks in all the natural goodness so there is no need for artificial preservatives in these meals.
If you haven’t already guessed my overall thoughts on Everdine is that they are brilliant, each meal was delicious full of flavour, and ready to eat within 10 minutes. With my busy schedule it is the ideal way to ensure I am eating well even when time is not on my side. Hangry Amy has been put back in her box and I am feeling great.
Everdine can be delivered to you at home or even in the office, you choose from either 8 or 12 meals to be delivered to you fortnightly. It’s a great way to have a constant supply of healthy food in the freezer with no worrying about needing to fit in the food shop on the way home! There is a selection of classic meals as well as a wide variety of vegetarian options to choose from. The plan works out to be as little as £6.40 a meal when you choose the 12 box option. If you’re anything like me and opt for eating out or grabbing lunch on the go it will also save you lot of money.
