Valentines day is a coming, I haven’t celebrated Valentines day in a good few years now due to being a lonely old spinster but this year it is all change. I have a boyfriend (and yes I feel about 8 years old making that statement) but it means that as it’s our first Valentines day and we are still in the ever so cute actually like seeing each other phase I can make a little bit of a fuss and get excited about it. Next year I am sure it will be ‘oh you again’.
So what do women want on Valentines day? Here goes my guide to Valentines day with a little something to suit all – I hope. Scott take note…..
- Flowers – Obvious one, but many of my friends moan they have never received a bunch of flowers EVER. You can get a bunch for a fiver guys and we really do appreciate them. Even if like me you cant keep them alive for more than 2.5 days they still make me happy for those days.
- FujiFilm Instax mini 8 – I am obsessed with these camera’s. They take the cutest little keepsake photos with a real vintagy look. Such a great gift to capture all your cute coupleyness that you can stick all over your desk/fridge. I also love these magnetic frames you can pick up from HEMA my home is soon to be covered in them.
- A diary – To keep track of all your future hot dates obviously. Or perhaps your stationary loving girl just needs one more, the Hello Time Planner from Illustries is beautiful. Without sounding like a nut case I can’t quite explain how perfectly perfect it is for me, it has space for everything goal setting, brain storming, life organising with little quotes along the way that you’ll see featured all over my instagram.
Pampering – Give your partner the night of kids duties, or run her a bath after a busy day at work.
Sitting in a bath with a glass of wine and some fancy Beech’s chocolate will earn you the major brownie points.
A little hamper of goodies will never go a miss either; pop in some posh soap and candles The English Soap Company have a ton the smell amazing, face masks – GlamGlow have been my go too face mask’s of late so nourishing yet gentle on my skin. Hair treatments, Philip Kingsley treatments have been a saviour for keeping my hair full of moisture in these harsh winter months.
Foodie – Women are much simpler creatures then men like to think, if we’re moody/tired/irritable food and drink usually fixes most problems.
Take over the cooking for an eve; how about a Caribbean theme with a splash of Jamaican Koko Kanu rum tasting thrown in?
Easier still feed us chocolate, shortbread and fruity beer in front of a soppy film. It’s the little gestures that mean the most.
Men are so hard to buy for on Valentines Day and in fact every occasion so please feel free to leave me some suggestions in the comments below!
