Spicing up dinner with Gousto

Spicing up dinner with Gousto

I have worked with Gousto a number of times in the past (find the posts here and here) trying out their boxes and testing out some delicious new recipes – but each time one of their lovely boxes turns up I am still blown away by the quality of the food and the amazing dishes I (yes me!) manage to create from following their simple step by step instructions.

I was sent a box to spice up our January a couple of weeks ago and it was just what I needed the January blues were in full swing and I needed something fun to get stuck into!

As ever I wasn’t disappointed and couldn’t wait to get my chefs hat on and whizz up some amazing food.

Meal 1 – Minute Steak Melt

G5I am a massive lover of steak, however at home I never seem to get it just right. This was pretty amazing even if I do say so myself. The steak was juicy, the flavours worked well I could eat that everyday.

Dish 2 – Tangy Tomato Pasta

So I had a bit of a mare with this one, my own fault entirely I managed to burn the chilli flakes and garlic. When I say burnt I mean incinerate, have you ever burnt chilli flakes? I don’t advise it burns the back of your throat like nothing I have ever known. Anyway once the smoke had cleared and I could re enter the kitchen I had to make this dish minus the flakes which did make it a little less interesting but all the same it was delicious.

Meal 3 – Coconut Tamarind Chicken

Not the best photo – but I can assure you this was amazing. I am not usually keen on coconut but I may have been converted by this dish it was so so good again really easy to follow the recipe and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

Meal 4 – Sweet Potato Salad

Gousto 1

Who knew salad could taste so good!? This was definitely the dark horse of the box so full of flavour and goodness I am 100% making this again it will be great for lunches and dinners – the dressing with a good kick of chilli really makes it!

So as you can see it was a really good week food wise for me, Gousto always spoil you with the high quality food you receive it’s so sad when it ends and you go back to the norm.

I recommend Gousto to just about everyone, they make for a great treat and say if you have guests or family over they are perfect to show off your culinary skills! They have got some special valentines dishes on the menu at the moment perfect if you are looking to impress the other half!

That steak sandwich!! Yum! I’m not great with ‘fancy’ meals, I’m more a meat and veg kinda gal, but I’d eat all of these! Oh apart from the salad, unfortunately I’m not a fan, really wish I was though! xx

They all look really nice, I like the sound of the coconut chicken one. We have been doing lots of coconut meals recently and I love them!
