Pumpkin picking

Pumpkin picking

On Monday the girls and I headed off to Sopley Farm in Christchurch for bit of pumpkin picking. This is the first time I have ever been to a pumpkin patch I didn’t even realise there was one in Dorset until I started seeing some photos pop up on friends Instagram’s.

We’re not overly big on halloween but we always do a pumpkin or two so this added to the fun of it, actually going out and picking our own pumpkin made it so much more exciting for the kids.

They all got stuck straight in finding the best pumpkins, Lottie was giving it a good go as well although she couldn’t lift them!

With our sledge full of pumpkins we were off, we didn’t make it back with 6 though it was pretty heavy and I also had to carry Lottie so we ended up with 3! The girls were still happy with one each now we just need to carve them out ready for Saturday.

Have you been pumpkin picking yet?

Looks like you had a great time and the girls enjoyed it. Lottie looks so mini next to the pumpkins what a sweetheart! A fun half term activity!:)

Fantastic idea to use a sledge to pull them along! I didn’t know until this week that there was a pumpkin patch near me either, a bit too late for us to go, but next year we will definitely head along to find our pumpkin. I love the photos, there’s something about seeing random balls of orange dotted about a field that looks very seasonal. I’m looking forward to our own pumpkin patch visit next year!
Thanks so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather 🙂 x

They’re like little jewels dotting the landscape aren’t they? Beautiful, bright little gems! What a lovely thing to do — I bet your littles had a ball. Can’t wait to take my boys to one — will go next year if there’s one close by 🙂 xx

We don’t celebrate halloween but we love our local pumpkin patch which is also in Dorset at Bailey Ridge near Sherborne. I must put my pumpkin patch pics up on the blog! Lovely photos. Stopping by from #brilliantblogposts

This looks so much fun. I love the photograph of Lottie trying to pick up the pumpkin. She is so cute. We didn’t do anything for Halloween this year. But I definitely want to take Little Miss H pumpkin picking next year. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
