Yonks ago (about 10 months ago) I wrote a day in the life of a toddler post for Bella today I thought I’d share with you Lottie’s day in the life .. the typical day of my 16 month old.
5:00am: I’m awake and I’m not sodding happy my big sisters are awake, being loud and have woken me up I’m going to whine and shout until mummy comes to get me.
5:10am: Mummy’s taken me in her bed, again I’m not sodding happy she’s making shushing noises at me in hope I doze with her – think I’ll just poke her in the eyes instead.
5:40am: We’re all sat down stairs now, I’m waiting for breakfast in my highchair must bang the tray and shout for mummy to do it faster – 30 seconds is not acceptable in my world.
6:00am: Breakfast is done after 2 mouthful’s I thought it would be better on the floor so while mummy mops that up I’m just going to torment my sister’s – well they woke me up didn’t they. I’ll steal the toys they’re playing with and run away laughing hysterically until I fall over which I tend to do a lot, I’m still bit wobbly at this walking lark and tend not to look where I’m going – ever.
7:00am: We’re getting ready for the big girls to go to nursery! Ooo mummy’s doing make up I like these funny brushes think I’ll take some and hide them she’ll love that.
7:30am: Getting dressed I don’t fancy socks today so as mummy puts them on I’ll take them off & repeat….
8:00am: Out to the car we go, getting sleepy after being awake so early so I do not under any circumstances want to sit in my own car seat.
Guess what she’s only gone and put me in the bloody car seat hasn’t she! This is not on – must shout and let her know it’s not on until we get to school.
9:00am: Sisters are at nursery; back home for my nap now. Milk and snooze while mummy eats all the biscuits she thinks we don’t know she does this – we do.
11:00am: Rudely awoken by mother saying its time to go get the girls from nursery wasn’t very long was it (tell me about it).
12:00pm: It’s lunch time I don’t want my own cheese sandwich though would much rather have mummy’s. Smear yogurt around my face. Now mummy wants to head out for fresh air – great.
1:00pm: We are in a park AGAIN – same shit different day. I don’t like sitting in swings anymore would much prefer to try and walk in front of them mummy’s freaking out – this game is fun.
3:00pm: Tired again time to go for a nap. If I sleep now I won’t sleep tonight; mummy knows it, I know it. I wander who will win.
4:30pm: Well that was a no brainer, nice sleep done. Now I want my dinner – mummy is trying to cook I find the best way of speeding this process along is to hold on to her ankles in the kitchen.
5:00pm: It’s now when I come into my own, everyone else is starting the flag after a long day which means a perfect opportunity to jump on them or make mummy build me a tower which I’ll knock down if it dares to get higher than 3 blocks high.
6:00pm: Bath time I have a beard of bubbles and if one of my sisters even try to take my watering can I will splash about like a maniac until I get it back – standard.
7:00pm Milk, teeth and bed but of corse I had an afternoon nap so if mummy thinks this is going to be that straight forward she’s wrong oh so very wrong.
Play teddies in bed for a while
Sing/chatter to myself for a while
Bored – still not sleepy
Throw teddies – shout mama until she returns
Laugh on her arrival
Repeat this process for an hour or 2. Until finally sleep time.
Hmm wonder what havoc I can cause tomorrow…
Haha, Amy! Or should I say Lottie (she surely wrote this, afterall?) – this made me laugh so much.
Lots of stuff reminded me of my own little monkey. Such a funny age. xx

Oh the curse of the long afternoon nap! I feel your pain…I’ve taken to putting my little one into her car seat at 8pm and driving around until she falls asleep, she would be up all night otherwise. Sounds like our babies are kindred spirits 🙂

Great post! Very similar in this house, but with probably a few more tantrums and a bit more shouting (by mummy). Can’t believe she would ever be a pain in the neck when you see those cute photos!

Ha ha! This made me laugh and it is somehow nice to know i’m not the only one that has to start their day at 5! I’ve just sat down after putting my youngest down for a nap and then tackling the massive clear up from breakfast. Now I can hear him through the monitor….ahhh!

Brilliant – can definitely relate to this! It’s so difficult when they want to nap in the afternoon and you know you have a choice of a prolonged bedtime or a grumpy child from then onwards. Love that last photo – so adorable. Lottie looks like butter wouldn’t melt… 🙂
