Accommodation: Platinum Caravan at Twitchen House
The caravan at Twitchen House exceeded our expectations. It had a sleek, modern design with ample space for everyone. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals when we chose to dine in. The living area was cozy, perfect for unwinding after a day full of activities. Each bedroom was comfortable and provided plenty of storage space. The kids especially love fully unpacking and making it their own. The two bathrooms were a blessing for our large family, ensuring no morning rushes! We loved having a large deck space with the barbecue, we were so lucky with gorgeous weather during our stay, so definitely made good use of this.
When staying in a Platinum caravan you also have things like towels and bedding included. Plus some of them are dog friendly, Our Brucey went on his own little holiday to see his doggy friends but it’s great to know you could have a dog in this accommodation if you choose to.
On-Site Facilities and Activities
Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park offers a wide range of facilities and activities that kept us entertained throughout our stay. Here’s a glimpse of what we enjoyed:
- Pottery Painting: A lovely chance for the whole family to get creative. You just pay for what you paint, the kids and I really enjoy painting and getting a little artistic, so this was perfect for us and it’s always nice to have something to take home!
- Swimming: The park boasts multiple pools, during our stay only the indoor pool was open but that was fine. It was nice and warm with a kids splash pool, main pool and two water slides. To use the pool you do need to book in advanced via their app but the slots are only open 24 hours before so people can’t just get in early and book it all up as they are super popular. We had no issues getting swim spots but we were quite flexible on times.
- Crazy Golf: This was a hit with everyone. The course was fun, providing plenty of laughs and a bit of friendly competition – I am awful at crazy golf so if I don’t laugh i’d cry!
- Soft Play: A perfect little spot for the younger kids to burn off some energy. The soft play area was safe, clean and located next to the restaurant. Elsie made full use of it while we dined.
- Arcades: The arcades were a highlight for my kids in the evenings. They particularly loved the 2p machines and we left with a ton of key chains.
- Evening Entertainment: As a family, we enjoyed the evening shows and entertainment. Elsie loved seeing Billy & Betty beach ball and joined in with the mini discos. The bingo was a huge hit even though we didn’t win! And the later performances we’re fantastic, they were actually so much better than I expected.
Exploring the Area: Woolacombe and Beyond
The holiday park’s location is great, with the beautiful Woolacombe Beach just a short distance away. The kids had a blast building sandcastles, and we all enjoyed a scenic walk along the coast.
We also took a day trip to Ilfracombe, home to the famous Tunnel Beaches. These unique beaches are accessible through hand-carved tunnels dating back to the 1820s. The combination of history and natural beauty made for a memorable outing especially when followed with fish and chips! You also have some great days out on the door step like The Big Sheep, The Milky Way and Exmoor Zoo to name just a few attractions.

Our stay at Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park was brilliant, specifically in a Platinum caravan at Twitchen House, was an exceptional family weekend away. The combination of the accommodation, a plethora of activities on site and the beautiful surrounding area made it a family break to remember. I highly recommend Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park for any family looking for a fun filled and thoroughly enjoyable holiday. It’s a great location at a fantastic price. We can’t wait to return!
