Hunting for the BRICKOSAURS at Marwell Zoo

The world exclusive LEGO® brick dinosaur event BRICKOSAURS! is currently at Marwell Zoo, the girls and I were invited down to check it out and we had the best day out we’ve had in a longggg time.

I hadn’t been to Marwell Zoo since I was a child myself, it was a well over due visit and a first for my daughters. Marwell Zoo is situation in Hampshire which isn’t too far for us at all. It’s really well sign posted on the way down the M25 which is always a good help!

We arrived early, the zoo wasn’t open until 10am but by 10:30 it was already really busy so my advice would definitely be to arrive as early as you can. Although the car park was busy it didn’t take long to get through the gate and once your inside the park is so big it doesn’t feel crowded at all.

There is so much to see and do at Marwell Zoo, we got our BRICKOSAURS Spotter’s Guide and headed off to find all the 50 magnificent prehistoric creatures as we visited the animal enclosures along the way. Our favourite dinosaur of corse the huge T-Rex! WOW I can’t believe the amount of bricks that went in to creating him and the hours spent – LEGO really is an art!

Each amazing dinosaur blew us away as we found them. It really is a great addition to Marwell Zoo this summer.

Of corse the living animals were also fantastic. From the little meerkats which we could watch digging away all day to the giant yet graceful giraffes there are so many animals to see and learn about.

My favourite are the snow leopards – they are so incredibly gorgeous. It’s amazing to see them so close up, even if they were having a nap!

We also had great fun in the new tropical house. We were busy spotting butterflies and enjoying the interactive pads and it started raining! We weren’t expecting that but it added to the fun and felt like we were in a real rainforest.

After a lovely day exploring the park and playing in the various play parks. We finished our visit with a visit to the BRICKOSAURS Basecamp.

We were amazed to find 2 huge pools of LEGO for the kids to literally dive into and start building – the creations we were seeing were amazing!

We also got the perfect photo opportunity inside the 3D Meglosaurus, how cool is that!

We had the best day out, Marwell Zoo is a fantastic day out at the best of times, the BRICKOSAURS just make it that little bit more special! A huge thank-you to Marwell for inviting us for the day, the girls haven’t stopped talking about it since.

BRICKOSAURS is at Marwell Zoo from Friday 5 April until Sunday 1 September 2019 so get on down and hunt the BRICKOSAURS for yourselves!
