As we approach my eight Christmas as a parent (What!). My thoughts have turned to where I will be taking the little tribe to see Santa this year. It’s a tradition so many of us do but one that can be hit and miss. Like most the main tick points for me are; value for money and a fun, magical experience for the kids. We’ve been to some terrible Santa’s Grottos and some amazing ones so here is my guide to the best places to visit Santa in Dorset.
- Breakfast with Santa at Wyevale Garden Centre.
Great for the family as you all get a delicious breakfast too! The kids will feel at ease as Santa comes round and gets to know them all individually before going into the grotto and choosing a toy. - Sail with Santa with City Cruises.
Parents can enjoy a glass of mulled wine while listening to Christmas carols. Kids will be able to enjoy a minute magic show. Santa will be walking around the boat, meeting all children. Each child will receive a Christmas present directly from Santa. - Monkey World
A fairy lit buggy ride to visit Santa in his grotto! Mulled wine, mince pies, and a gift for each child fantastic for the whole family. Very reasonably priced and I really like that they have a single parent family ticket option. - Stewarts Garden Centre
For a more traditional Santa experience Stewarts is the one. Visit Santa in his winter wonderland and get to see the real reindeer! - Swanage Railway
Visit Santa on his special steam train along the Swanage railway! The one-hour return journey also includes festive children’s entertainment in each carriage. A really lovely idea.
Now the problem is just which one will you choose! Of corset there are a ton more but for me these re just a little bit more special and a little bit more fun for the whole family.
