Child Free Holidaying & Switching Off

I am home from a gorgeous holiday in Gran Canaria with my best friends!!!

I think this has been the longest I hadn’t posted on my blog or social media since it all began 3 years ago. I must confess as much as I love my little corner of the internet it has been lovely!

I didn’t intend on taking a break; I thought I would still be tweeting and instagraming my socks off but when it came to it I just didn’t fancy it. Usually on trips or weekends away I am constantly taking photos or filming ready to share or write about but this trip was different. It was me time that I so desperately needed. I read a book, I sunbathed, took little day time naps and I even drank cocktails at mid day. It was perfect.

I’ve returned feeling excited about blogging and what we having coming up over the summer, there is so much I can’t wait to share with you all. People always say taking a break is good for you, I knew it was but I hadn’t managed to put it to the test properly – until now.

Gran Canria Holiday

As previously mentioned in a post I wrote before leaving I didn’t have my children with me, it is the longest I have ever been without them. By day 3 I missed them more than I ever thought I would, I’ve never really had chance to miss them before so it was a strange feeling, we face timed and chatted on the phone though so I knew they were having lots of fun at their dads.

Yesterday, after a 3:30am start, I was back in time to do the school pick up and was greeted at the gates with the biggest cuddles I’ve ever had. I was so happy to see them again and apparently they were happy to see me too. Our break did us good and I can’t wait to have 6 weeks off with them now. We don’t actually have all that much planned, except Camp Bestival next weekend. Which is so unlike me, I am usually the queen of pre-planning but I’m really looking forward to no pressure and just seeing where our days take us.

I will be weekly vlogging as of tomorrow to share the summer holidays with you so if you haven’t already go over and subscribe to our YouTube Channel so you don’t miss it!

For now I will leave you with the few iPhone snaps I managed from my week in the sun!
