No.34 Restaurant Launch

Last week I was invited down to the launch of a new Bournemouth restaurant – no.34. When the invitation arrived with the promise of a three course dinner cooked by a Michelin star chef the little foodie inside of me squealed with delight!

I took one of my best friends with me and off we went for a little date night.

No.34 is situated inside the Orchid Hotel, the interiors are gorgeous. I have a huge love of all things copper at the moment so it was right up my street. We were handed prosecco cocktails on arrival to enjoy in the bar, it was such a nice chilled vibe in there. A few other local bloggers were also there it, so it was great to have a little natter before we went through for dinner.

Restaurant lighting is never my friend but still I took a couple of snaps.

I thought we would be arriving to a set menu, but was pleased to see we had the choice, there were a great selection of dishes to choose from. I started with a tomato, pesto and goats cheese tempura – it was delicious. Pretty massive for a starter but it tasted so good I just couldn’t stop. For mains I went for the lamb on recommendation from the waitress. The lamb was deliciously juicy and tender, the sauce was a little rich for me. Although it was nice, after those strong flavours of the pesto in my starter it felt quite heavy. By desert I was stuffed and after eyeing up the triple chocolate I actually opted for a couple of scoops of sorbet – I needed something light and refreshing.

I didn’t catch our waitress’s name but she was so lovely, really friendly and helpful. It was such a busy night for them all but they handled it really well.

Thank-you for having us guys we had a great evening.
