A Little Break At M by Montcalm Shoreditch

A Little Break At M by Montcalm Shoreditch

Over the weekend Caro, Sarah and I headed up to London for an event with Mumsnet, seen as it would take us each a couple of hours to travel in we thought why not make the most of it and stay overnight.

After a little browse online we settled on the M by Montcalm drawn in instantly by the luxuriousness of the rooms, the thought of loosing a couple of hours in the spa and the fab location; in the heart of Shorditch surrounded by lots of amazing bars and restaurants. The building it self is just stunning as I walked towards I actually stopped just to take a photograph before even realising it was the hotel I was looking for.

On arrival I was greeted by friendly staff who were quick to take my bags and see me to the correct suite. Stylish decor flows through the hotel with the steel and black shades giving it a modern edgey look but the pops of bright colour keeping it warm and friendly.

We booked a Junior suite to sleep 3, a spacious room with a king sized bed and a double pull out sofa bed which was all set up and made on arrival.
The tech savvy hotel was kitted out with an amazing media system which controlled everything from music, opening the curtains and even mood lighting by using the various touch screen pads around the room.

Before long it was cocktail o’clock and we headed up to the sky bar for a little light refreshment. Again beautiful decor surrounded us and friendly staff greeted us and waited patiently as in true blogger style we went around the room snapping just about everything – but really how could we not!

As part of our stay that evening we were invited to eat at the Urban Coterie and my goodness it was unreal, the food was incredible each dish perfectly presented and bursting with flavour.

We were so well looked after by our lovely waitress Ermira making sure we had everything we needed whilst giving up plenty of time to browse the menu, have a good old chat and enjoy the incredible cocktails the bar had to offer.

After lots of laughter and with full bellies we headed back to our rooms for the night. I was on the pull out bed and I have to say it was one of the most comfortable nights sleep I have ever had. I am terrible at sleeping away from home and usually wake up multiple times but from my head hitting that pillow I didn’t stir once until the morning – cocktails may have contributed to this.

A club breakfast was included with our room so we headed back up to the club lounge to choose from a range of continental options and to guzzle some much needed coffee.

After a refuel I needed to have a quick hour in the spa before it was time to pack. The spa was incredible, immaculate with a modern relaxing vibe. I flitted between the pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and left feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Saying goodbye to M by Montcalm was not easy it’s the perfect location for a London break, I could have stayed for a week. Everyone was so friendly and catching up with two of my best blogging buddies was just lovely.

Make sure you check out Caro and Sarah’s thoughts on our stay too!
