With the count down to Christmas well and truly on I have been thinking about decorations this year and I am not talking about the tree, I want to add a touch of christmas magic to the whole living room with some cute cosy additions over the next couple of weeks. I have never been one to do this in previous years but the girls are all really aware of what’s actually going on this year and so I am more excited for Christmas than ever before.
I’ve been doing a little – okay a lot – of online browsing for some bits and bobs I can add to the lounge to get things looking really festive. Just little key pieces that will make a real difference and thought I would share them.
First up an easy way to update any sofa is to add some new cushions I am obsessed with check and tartan patterns this season – on me, the kids and in the house. I love it so these cushions from primark are the perfect way to add a pop of festive colour and the reindeer cushion is just too cute from John Lewis.
I’d love a nice big squishy armchair like this one from Multiyork I need more seating anyway in my lounge and I can just picture myself snuggled up in this chair with my new cushions and a big fluffy blanket sipping on a hot chocolate with marshmallows and loads of cream – looks so cosy.
On to blankets going back to my love of all things check again with this one from next, I would have this in my living room all year round, I think it will go really nicely with the cushions and it’s plenty big to fit us all under for wintery DVD afternoon’s.
A little bit of christmasy bunting is a must! There are a ton available at Not On The High Street I chose this classic noel one I think it will look really cute!
Lastly a couple of finishing touches as who doesn’t need a sparkly stag somewhere in their room – I certainly need a few, and my favourite candle at the moment which is the christmas pillar candle from The White Company it just smells like christmas and is utterly delicious.
So these are currently on my to buy list, do you get the house looking festive this time of year?
