Getting Organised For National Stationery Week

Now some of you may or may not know this but today is the start of National stationery week, the aim of this week is to encourage more people to put pen (and pencil) to paper by getting them talking about stationery and the importance of writing by hand. Nowadays we are quick to jot notes in our phones or send an e-mail over a hand written letter, but writing is just as important as ever – I myself am a little bit of a stationery junky there’s something about pretty note books and diary’s I just cannot resist.nsw

So for National stationery week I am going to share with you some of my tips for keeping your’s and the families schedules super organised.

  1. List’s – Now I do like a good list if your ever feeling overwhelmed because you have a ton of stuff to get done and deadlines to meet I would suggest breaking it down, writing each one and then tick them off one by one – it makes it much more manageable and you’ll feel back in control.
  2. Use a calendar – I was sent this really cute family planner calendar from Dodo Pad and I really love how it has an individual column for everyone, it makes it so easy to read and having it all in one place makes life a hell of a lot simpler.
  3. Colour coding – make your diary easier to read, if its full of scribbles and swirls written in a rush you’ll be there all day trying to figure it out keep it simple. Yellow – kids, Green – housework, Red – after school clubs etc..
  4. I would suggest a separate diary for work type things – so for me I have a separate diary for all things blogging related I pop in deadlines, products I’ve been sent to review and linky’s I’m joining in with or hosting so when I do sit down to get some done I know exactly what I need to get done well in advance rather than searching back through old emails trying to figure it all out(trust me been there!)

So these are just some of the thing’s I aim to do to keep myself on top of everything there are of corse occasions it all goes to pot and I just start to feel lost and like it’s all getting a little out of control and that is the perfect time for me to go out and buy some new stationery to get back on the organised wagon!

What would be your favourite tips for keeping organised?

I saw a post about stationary and had to click! I love stationary! Have you discovered the Busy B collection? It is amazing and they have a fab diary with two sides – one for work and one for personal (or whatever you wish it to be for eg blog). I definitely need to be more organised – I have a calendar and a diary but I forget to write in them and store everything in my head hehe! #sharewithme

Fantastic post Amy, I am such a stationery junkie too! I can’t go into Paperchase without buying notebooks I don’t need. I need to get a blogging diary going and I like the look of the Dodo pad too, must be useful with your girls! xx #sharewithme

Who knew there was actually a week to celebrate stationary. I miss using stationary quite as much as I did before the iPhone era, but I do LOVE it.

I’m an avid stationary junkie as well, so I’m so thankful that I came across your post about National Stationary Week. I’m a bit old school because I still use a paper calendar and a list to get my task done, but I am considering other options to celebrate as well. Perhaps an old fashion letter to send to a friend of mine across the country will do. Thanks for the inspiration!
