The family and I were recently invited down to The Coconut Tree to try out their Come Dine With Me: The Professionals winning menu!
The guys from The Coconut Tree entered the famous channel 4 show and only went and won it! Following the success they took that very winning menu on a roadshow around their different coconut tree’s and whilst in Bournemouth we were lucky enough to try it out.

The Coconut Tree’s mission is simple they want to give everyone a taste of Sri Lankan family hospitality, with an authentic affordable menu while delivering delicious dishes and fantastic flavours combined with fun ‘Cocotails’ all in a relaxed island vibe.
And, boy did they!
Excuse my photos being so orange toned, the restaurant’s lighting is super warm – which creates a gorgeous cosy atmosphere but is not great for my photos!

Mocktails all round for the kids, The Coconut Tree have recently launched a children’s menu, I was so pleasantly surprised when the girls just tucked in! They managed to keep the authentic Sri Lankan feel to the menu but keep it child friendly. The cheesy hopper pancakes and cheese bites were the big winners, they just couldn’t get enough. The children’s menu is also great value with a main, drink and dessert for just £5.50!

The cocotails were amazing – not only super tasty but they were also so special, like being set on fire or served in a giant pineapple kind of special.
This was my first time trying Sri Lankan food and all I can say is – wow! Course after course was full of incredible, rich flavours. I loved it.

We had such a great time at The Coconut Tree, and couldn’t recommend more.It would make for the perfect date night spot with a few cocktails but equally is a great family friendly spot!

Thanks so much to The Coconut Tree for having us, we had a great evening and can’t wait to come back.
Disclaimer: We were invited to The Coconut Tree to share our experience on instagram. This post is not part of that review but we loved it so much I wanted to write it up. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
