As far as combinations go Prosecco and Pizza has got to be up there with one of the best man-made matches of recent years. Pizza has always been a firm favourite in my life but combining it with bubbles just makes it even better.
La Piccola Italia invited me and the rest of the Bournemouth Bloggers gang down to sample their new Bottomless Prosecco Brunch; of corse I wasn’t going to miss this!
La Piccola Italia host their Bottomless Prosecco Brunch every Saturday between 12-5pm, they provide 90 minutes of unlimited prosecco and dining for just £25 per person. I’ve been for a few bottomless brunches in the past and main thing La Piccola Italia win on is their attentiveness, glasses never went empty and food was a plenty it was fantastic!
We started with a selection of Cicchetti (small plates) which included Calamari, bruschetta, Gnocchi, tortellini and I even tried my first muscle. I know it’s not exactly news worthy but it was a big deal for me and I actually really enjoyed them they were cooked in a white wine, tomato and garlic sauce which was gorgeous.
It was so nice to catch up with everyone as we worked our way through the dishes, a brunch like this with lots of sharing plates creates such a friendly social atmosphere – ideal for big groups.
Next came the Pizzette (small pizza to you and I). Now usually I wouldn’t have much time for ‘small pizza’ but there were so many with a ton of different flavours it was the perfect amount.
I would probably eat pizza any way it comes but when you find a good pizza you just know. The base is just the right thickness, with loads of cheese and bursts of flavour and this is exactly how these pizza’s were. How I hadn’t eaten here before I don’t know.
The prosecco continued to flow as we were brought out some Charcuterie boards, a selection of cheese and meats to tuck into – yum.
This event really was a combination of all my favourite things; good friends, good food and prosecco, if you’re looking for a fun afternoon with friends I would definitely recommend.
I was invited along to this event with Bournemouth Bloggers for the purpose of this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
