Planning Garden Parties

As I sit at my desk, looking out over my garden as the last of the snow melts I can’t help but wonder if this winter has finally come to an end.

I do love cosy winter evenings in but once Christmas and new year is done and dusted my thought immediately turn to the summer plans ahead and I picture long evenings in the garden with a glass of rosé in hand.

My garden isn’t the biggest or the best looking it’s split over two levels and half of it is home to a car port and garage but it is still my outdoor space. Last year I spent a lot of the summer tidying it up. Tree’s were cut down, weeds were pulled over and over again and by the end of summer it looked some what acceptable. But it was the end of summer so I didn’t get much use of it.

This year I plan to make the most of it I want to get the garden looking nice early on so I can really start enjoying it.

The kids will have their usual little paddling pool and I want to create a nice seating area on the patio I can enjoy watching them from.

I need some motivation to do this though, it’s all good looking through Pinterest and getting the ideas but actually doing it is another matter. Instead I am going to make myself get the garden in order by planning a summer garden party with some friends so I know when my deadline is.

After pinning and trawling through the internet I settled on the idea of a circus theme. I love the bright colours and I think the kids would love it as well.

I found the most gorgeous selection of homeware by the brand Alessi that would really just tie the theme together, I can see the little jars filled with sweets and snacks for the little ones to tuck into in-between splashing in the pool whilst the Prosecco chills in the fun wine cooler.

I can’t wait to be out there just making the most of the warmer days and finally using the space that has been left looking miserable and unloved since we moved in!

What are you most excited for this summer?
