As you may have spotted on social media a couple of weeks ago the girls and I headed off to Bluestone, Wales for a few days with Alice and Amelia!
What was a rather spontaneous last minute trip turned out to be so much fun and I wanted to share a few snaps of what we all got up to as I of corse took about a thousand photos and Everything Mummy does serve as my online scrap book for the girls to one day look back through. Hopefully they’ll enjoy and not be too embarrassed about any stories or silly pictures I have shared of them! Sorry girls in advance.
So after a 4 hour drive, which with three children in the car was actually relatively stress free (good children), we arrived and the beautiful Pembrokeshire resort – Bluestone. We were staying in one of the rather lovely St.David Lodges, I’ll actually be returning to Bluestone in June so will be sharing a more in depth review of the accommodation then but for now lets just say it’s bloody stunning, spacious and really we equipped for families.
The girls immediately ran in, chose beds and tested out toilets – what is it with kids and toilets?
After a long day traveling (in torrential rain might I add) we had a quick dinner and went to stretch our legs around the village.
The next morning we woke up to some beautiful sunny skies and headed out to Folly Farm for the day. Folly Farm is an amazing day out for families it’s not just a farm it’s also a zoo and a fairground it really has something for everyone, last year when we visited I wrote a full review you can read here. It was much warmer this time around so we made the most of being able to enjoy all the outside attractions.
There is so much to do and see at Folly Farm if you are at ever visiting Bluestone on just happen to be in Wales then make sure you give it a visit.
Wednesday saw us head off early into the activity centre for some playing before we took on a messy play session which was £7 per child for the hour.
This is probably one of my favourite photo’s ever of Bella sums her up completely with a Spiderman Tee and a crazy face.
The girls had free rein of different messy stations to get stuck into and really loved it – one tip for messy play take a change of clothes!
After a lunch back at the lodge we headed back for Buzby Bumbles – this was really fun for the kids they all dressed up as little bumble bee’s which just made us all melt and set about doing activities for Buzby. I was so impressed with this session I would definitely take the girls again. I have forgotten the ladies name who was running it (sorry!) but she was brilliant had all the kids getting involved and having a ton of fun.
Thursday, I headed off for an early morning swim with Bella and Maisy. We didn’t get much chance to swim on this trip which is a massive shame as the Blue Lagoon is amazing but they do have quite strict rules about ratio’s of adults to children which meant we couldn’t take all four girls at a time so we had to take in turns.
We rushed back after our swim to get ready for a Woody Wild Show – I was a little apprehensive of how the girls would be during the show. Getting four young children to sit still for an hour is never going to be easy, luckily it wasn’t a case of sitting down at all it was really interactive and the kids were up and about dancing and joining in – A really great show.
As it was our last evening (Boo) we headed out to the Farm House Grill for dinner and went to town on the burgers – delicious! I would advise you book before you head down to the Farm House Grill we managed to get a table but it was one of only a couple left and we were there for 5pm on the dot!
The menu wasn’t the biggest it was kind burgers, steaks etc but I mean that is fine be me, my favourite things!
Friday morning it was time to pack up and head home, you have to check out of the lodge at 10am but still have access to the facilities in the resort. The girls were pretty exhausted from having a busy few days and with a 4 hour drive ahead we decided to get straight on with the drive home.
This is our second visit to Bluestone and I still feel like we have so much more we can see and do there. It is the perfect family get away. As I said we’re headed back with some friends in June so make sure you keep an eye out for that!
Such a fun week, even if a little crazy with those four munchkins!!! Thanks for coming with us 🙂 xx

I keep hearing great things about Bluestone. Your week sounds great fun and all four kids look like they are having a fun time;) We have been fans of Center Parcs for years, as we like having everything conveniently located and Bluestones sounds very similar. Thanks for sharing your review;)
