Now isn’t the time to be shy about asking family and friends for help. You’re up against the clock, so you need to get as much help as you can get.
Rather than just make vague references to needing help, it’s a much better idea to give family members and friends specific instructions about what you’d like them to do. This way, you can ensure that nothing gets overlooked and everything gets done in time for moving day.
Work strategically from one room to the next
When you don’t have a lot of time to do something, you’re much more likely to panic and start haphazardly throwing your belongings into boxes. However, this isn’t the right way to go about moving house.
Instead, you should work strategically from one room to the next and carefully pack up your belongings ready to be taken to your new home. If you have time, it can be a good idea to write down a list of all the items that you’ve packed, so you can tick them off when you unpack.

Before you leave your old home and start the journey to your next, you need to make sure that you pack an essentials bag. This should include items that you may need while travelling and when you arrive at your new home.
For example, snacks and drinks for the drive, especially if you’re going to be travelling a long distance, the keys to your new home, important documentation such as your passport, and any medication that you or your family might need.
