There’s no denying Barbie is the hottest toy on the block right now. It’s always been a popular choice in out household but with the recent release of the new movie, Barbie fever has sky rocketed and we LOVE it!
Barbie has come such a long way since I played with them when I was little. It is great to see how the brand have evolved, seeing Barbie’s that everyone can relate to with dolls of different ethnicities, abilities, body types and career ambitions.
I particularly love the dolls with a focus on science, technology, engineering, and math for my daughters. All of my children enjoy imaginative play, but they don’t all just want to pretend to be pop stars or just have sleepovers. Showing their dolls in different roles and environments really broadens their minds to what is possible for not only during play but for them in later life too.
It’s also one of the only toys we have that brings all my daughters together to play. With my eldest being 12 and youngest being 2 there isn’t many toys they all play together with but Barbie is certainly one of them and it’s not just them playing with Elsie they genuinely enjoy setting up play scenarios, having their characters and getting stuck in themselves. The only issue starts when Elsie eventually decides their doll/accessories are much more appealing and they need to ‘swap’.
It is super cute to sneak in and see them playing together. The Barbie Camper Van Play set has been a huge hit because it came with so many accessories they love setting up camp fires. Elsie particularly loves putting everyone down the slide over and over again. And, I love that although it’s a bigger play set it all folds down and packs away really nicely and all the accessories can be stored inside so nothing gets lost!
Elsie also has the little people Barbie Dreamhouse Playset which is perfect for her, this playhouse is loaded with hands-on fun, including a moving elevator, rotating clothes-closet, a light-up pool with slide, and activation points which you can press for fun lights, music, and realistic sounds! It’s perfect for little hands. She plays with it so much we have actually got her ‘You Can Be Anything’ Figure Pack for her birthday too so she has more characters to play with.
