Camp Bestival is over for another year; it’s hard to think just last week we were waking up in our little green tent itching to get out for our final day of fun!
It seems so long ago already; despite the rain and wind we had such an awesome weekend, today I am sharing what we got up to on day one at Camp Bestival!
We arrived at Camp Bestival about mid day, in hindsight I wish we had arrived and set up camp on Thursday so we had the a full day on Friday to get out and about. Once we made it to Pitch Village (in heavy rain) the girls wanted to spend bit of time getting settled into the tent, I was soaked so didn’t mind at all!
After they had played ‘sleeping tents’ we got our boots and coats on and headed down to all the action. We needed glitter and we needed it asap. The dressing up tent were offering glitter for hair/faces and even beards! We all got sparkled up and felt much more in the festively sprit – isn’t it amazing what some glitter can do..
Day one is always about finding your festival feet. We met up with my dad who was also at Camp Bestival and had a walk around figuring out where everything was, grabbing some food and having the odd go on the carousel.
The rain held off for the majority of the afternoon thankfully, we got to watch a few of the fun circus acts and play in the bubbles!
Night time soon fell so we headed back to the tent to layer up and grab a bunch of snacks. I am quite strict on bedtime at home (I need my peace) so the girls we thrilled to be out so late they kept asking me ‘what time is it now mummy?’ Like it was their mission to stay put as late as possible.
We managed to watch Mark Ronson put on his amazing set and have a good old dance. He mixed old with new so there was something for everyone. It was then as I was dancing in the rain with a giggling child on my shoulders I remembered just why I love Camp Bestival so much!
