Lottie’s First Swimming Lesson

Last week I read a great post from Kat at Beau Twin’s all about her future plans for her twins and it really gave me a kick up the backside to get more bits and bobs planned for Lottie. When Maisy and Bella were younger we used to get up to all sorts clubs, groups, playgroups etc everyday we had something to do, since they have both started nursery everything seems to of dropped off and now me and Lottie just go to one playgroup a week, which is great but I often feel bad and that I could be doing more.

So as I said I finally got on with is and book Lottie in for some swimming lessons, it was so exciting, it was actually the first time she has ever been swimming, which I know to most sounds really late but I can’t take all three girls swimming at the same time, not only would it be an absolute nightmare but the pool has a 1 adult to 2 children rule so I’m not allowed to. Anyways Tuesday morning we headed off for her first lesson.

Here she is ready so get in the pool! You’ll have to excuse how blurred the photo is but madam wouldn’t stay still at all so this is the best I got.

She started off shaky, it was a whole new environment for her but the instructor just said the first few lessons will be about her getting happy in the water, she clung to me as tight as she could for about 10 minutes but didn’t take her long to start splashing and even quite enjoying it towards the end she was laughing and kicking her little legs like the other children, I was so proud.

I’m sure next week she will be the same nervous to start and then get into the swing of things, I’m looking forward to seeing her confidence grow each week and its so fun to be doing something just me and her.

Here’s the little pickle afterwards, very cheeky little grin happy to have her post swimming snack I think!

    So cute!!!!
I remember my daughter’s first swimming lesson as it was yesterday and I got one of the many scares of my life because of her. She was in a no feet area and she just take her hands from the teacher. I just watched her disappear from the pool. But she kicked of the floor and came back in seconds time. Oh my lord… In the end everything went well and she loved the experience. 🙂

That smiley photo of her afterwards is lush.

Jasmine started swimming lessons 3 weeks ago and for the first one she just clung to me and hid her face against my chest. She’s already so much more confident in the water after just a couple more sessions so I’m sure Lottie will be the same. Well done for taking the plunge and booking lessons. It will be fun for you both. 🙂 xx

Aww she looks very cute in her swimming cossie! Was that at the dolphin Pool? I’ve not taken Elliot there as I’ve heard it was a bit chilly but we love the Junction Pool in Broadstone! x #brilliantblogposts

    Those photos are so cute!
I taught my youngest daughter to swim. Such an amazing feeling when they are confident with the water. It took a few days for her to get used to it but by the end of the week she started jumping into the water herself, doggy paddling and even playing peek-a-boo (which is putting head under water then coming up shouting boo!) haha 🙂
