National Unplugging Day

Last Sunday (25th June) was national unplugging day; the annual day designed to get us all to take a step away from the technology and spend some quality time together. As someone who works online I knew this would be tough for me, I am never far away from the internet but I am always up for a challenge and as someone who can be quite strict with my children about screen time I figured it was about time I practiced what I preached. Keeping Cool This Summer

We’ve all done that typically British thing haven’t we? We’ve longed for the sun to make an appearance for the last 9 months, enjoyed it for a day and since done nothing but moan about it being ‘too hot’. I hold my hands up and admit I have said it! Now imagine being challenged to spend a whole 24 hours completely unplugged from phones and the internet. The 25th of June is National Unplugging Day and the family and I are giving it ago! As a full time blogger a big chunk of my day is spent online whether that be checking on emails, writing, replying to comments and managing social media it seems as though I am never far away from my phone or laptop. The thought of…

Three Years Ago…

As if my little corner of the internet has been up and running now for three whole years! I can’t quite believe it was three years ago I spent a whole evening setting up my little .blogspot.com website and making the whole thing a rather sickly shade of pink. I don’t mean to blow my own trumpet when I say I have come a long way. Back then I didn’t understand things like coding, SEO and domain authority; I barely knew the rules of grammar (haha yes I know it’s still a struggle) but to actually be in the position…
