Valentines day is a coming, I haven’t celebrated Valentines day in a good few years now due to being a lonely old spinster but this year it is all change. I have a boyfriend (and yes I feel about 8 years old making that statement) but it means that as it’s our first Valentines day and we are still in the ever so cute actually like seeing each other phase I can make a little bit of a fuss and get excited about it. Next year I am sure it will be ‘oh you again’. So what do women want on…
Potentially the longest January to date has now come to an end! People go one of two ways in January; they either embrace it, love it, go for dry Jan, throw themselves into resolutions or they do January blues. The short, cold, dark days get the best of them and they can’t wait for January to end. I am a mix of the two, this January for me has been good. Celebrating the Chinese New Year is a great way to brighten up the dreary mid-winter months and an excellent opportunity to introduce the kids to a little culture. The festivities are always a blast, as they’re filled with colourful animal and dragon costumes, delicious food and intriguing music. Take the whole family out to one of Dorset’s many pubs or community centres that are celebrating the year of the rooster, or stay in and enjoy some ethnic crafts and Chinese munchies in the comfort…
My daughters love to write. As soon as Maisy started school and was coming home telling us all about her hand writing all of them started taking a keen interest. Now Bella has also started school it has only escalated. They will all sit to the table drawing pictures and writing the stories to go with them. Lottie’s understandable is marks but she knows what she wants to write as she reads it all back to me after. There is something so nice about actually putting pen to paper yet it seems to be dying out. I myself am guilty…
