Dinner times in our household are usually a rather chaotic affair. Let me set the scene; we have 3 children on loop coming into the kitchen to declare they’re absolutely famished/need help with homework/have lost something. Whilst 1 small toddler attaches herself ninja-takedown style to my ankle as I attempt to stir, prep, and then usually realise I’ve forgotten a key ingredient. A scramble to find a replacement usually follows before wrestling the toddler into a highchair and calling the girls downstairs. Of corse the pleas of starvation have now depleted and they don’t surface until at least the forth time of calling. By which point I’m usually a frazzled-mess and decide I’ll eat mine later once baths and bed are all done and dusted.
It’s not quite the relaxing dining experience you see in the fairytales.
Thankfully, Richmond have come to my rescue with their brand new Toad In The Hole Meal Kit. A complete kit for making one of the families favourites dishes. The meal kit contains 10 Richmond pork sausages and a batter and serves four, or in our family 2 adults, three children and a 1 year old when a few sides are added in.
All your need to do is add a little water to the batter and you are ready to get your toad in the hole it in the oven. Let it cook and serve with some of your favourite veggies and gravy and you have yourself a family meal that’ll please even the harshest of tiny food critics!
I couldn’t believe that in under 5 minutes all the prep is done! It was so simple. I was slightly concerned it wouldn’t match up to my usual but I needn’t of been, I have to admit it was probably better and I didn’t have the faff that can go along with it.
Toad in the hole for us is usually a weekend dish. One I can cook when I have time on my side. With no homework being flung at me or P.E kits to be finding. But The Richmond Toad In The Hole Meal Kit is the perfect way to get a home cooked meal on the table mid week with minimal fuss and hardly any effort on my part.
A mums hidden weapon for those hectic school nights, just don’t be too offended when they prefer this to your usual!
