If you have watched any of my weekend blogs in the past you will know that the girls and I are huge fans of a little cake date at our local Haskins garden centre.
It was something I always did with my grandparents and so it’s lovely to carry on the tradition with my daughters. We especially love to visit at Christmas time to look at all the gorgeous lights and decorations followed by a festive hot chocolate in the cafe. Little did I know Haskins actually have events and fun activities going on ALL the time!
Last week the girls and headed down for the Rose Festival. We have a huge rose bush in our garden so the girls were especially keen to try and find ‘our roses’. Haskins had more than 200 types of roses in store to celebrate, including Peter Beales Roses and David Austin Roses!
It was a bit of a grey drizzly afternoon but it didn’t stop us having a good look around before a late lunch. There is also a little play area out side that the girls love climbing up and sliding down – rain or no rain it doesn’t stop my little girls!
There is something so pretty about rain drops on roses!
After we enjoyed the roses we headed into the cafe for some food, Haskins have a great selection of hot and cold dishes and the best cakes ever! The girls went for the kids lunch selection – they love being able to mix and match the 5 items they can have. I opted for a chicken and chorizo panini with a nice cuppa!
It was delicious. We always have fun visiting the garden centre – a huge than you to Haskins for hosting us and providing lunch.
The Rose Festival running at all four of Haskins centres, from Thursday May 16th to Thursday July 25th.
