When you are a mum, finding time to fit everything in can be quite the challenge, but one that we must balance anyway! Sometimes it is the case that you need to prioritise certain things and others kind of get pushed to the back, but that’s okay because as long as the essentials get done, that is the main thing. However, sometimes we even struggle in finding time for those, and in this article, we are going to be looking at some of the most common things that we just don’t feel like we have time for. If you are interested in this, keep reading down below.
The Food Shopping
Some people give up and do online food shopping because you can do it from the comfort of your own home, and as well as this, it is easier. The downside, however, is that you could end up with items that you didn’t order when the store does a swap. If they don’t have the item in stock, they could end up swapping it for something else without asking you first. So, it could be the case that you order bananas and you get a tub of ice cream. Not something a lot of people would complain about, but still wrong nonetheless. But, if you just don’t have the time or energy to go to the store, then this is a great alternative.
However, if you can get to the store, we suggest that you do. If you have your children with you, get them ready and put them in the car even though this can be a nightmare on its own, and make sure they know where you are going and why. They are more likely to be well behaved if they understand what is going on. Make sure you take a list to make everything that much easier when you get there. Or, you could simply wait until your children are with babysitters and go then.
Picking Up All Medicines
Getting out of the house can be a challenge, and we don’t want to make this harder for you, but sometimes you need to go and pick up medicine for you or your child. But, if you want to, you can use an online service to help you with this. What this means is that you no longer have to go out and risk everyone getting more poorly in the process. Instead, everything can be done online, and you are not going to have to waste a single second! This is going to save you a lot of time because where before you would have had to go to the chemist to put the prescription in and then wait and go back a few days later, this is no longer necessary!
Finding Time For Yourself
It becomes all about your kids when you have them, and that is the way it should be. However, you also need to find time to take care of yourself and give yourself a break. Even if this is the length of a bath, it could be the difference between you losing your mind and not on a particular day. It doesn’t have to be days away in the country while your kids are at home, it can literally be a couple of hours in front of the TV or doing something that you really enjoy either while the kids are asleep, or while someone else has them. The problem here is that parents often feel guilty for doing this, and that is why they don’t.
You shouldn’t though because you need time to cool down after a hard day. Taking this time does not make you a bad parent, and this is what you need to remember when it comes to making time for yourself!
Sometimes, Even Getting Ready
We know that even getting dressed on some days can feel like a challenge. Or, you simply don’t have time because your children need you to do something, or you need to do something else. It feels like the last thing on your mind, but you need to try and do it anyway. You are always going to feel better when you are dressed and ready to start the day as opposed to sitting down in your PJ’s wrestling with your kids. Get up, put some clothes on, brush your hair and tell yourself that whatever the day throws at you, you are going to get through it!
We hope that you have found this article helpful, and will use the advice above to help find time for everything that you need to do!
