Hands up who would love to sign their children up to learn a new skill this summer? Hands up who would also like it to cost them absolutely nothing???? READ ON……
Keeping my children fit and active is hugely important to me; not only for their own health and development but how satisfying is it as a parent to see your child enjoying running about and to see those tired little eyes come bed time just knowing they have had a great time.
This summer the Lawn Tennis Association are encouraging all children to get outside, pick up a racket and get a FREE taste for tennis. I was thrilled to get my daughters signed up for lessons in the coming months, they get to learn a new skill and (hopefully) discover a passion for a sport that I love.
I am really hoping that with their 6 week taster course they’ll pick up some basic skills that we can then build on and get out playing together. Tennis is one of those sports you can play in the garden, on the beach, out on a picnic not just in a court. It’s fun and the whole family can join in just hitting a ball back and forth.
There are a whopping 20,000 spaces available up and down the country and anyone can sign up their 5- to 8-year-old’s for free lessons via the ClubSpark website. Lessons start from 22 April so do check out your nearest club and get your kids signed up!
The programme is specially tailored to keeps kids engaged, even if they’ve never picked up a racket before(like mine). It includes ball games to help with hand-eye coordination, softer balls well-suited for beginners, playing on a more-manageable mini tennis court (smaller footprint, lower net), and well trained coaches on hand to get everyone involved and having fun.
You never know you might uncover a mini Serena Williams or Andy Murray!
I’m working in a paid relationship with the Lawn Tennis Association on their #TennisForKids campaign. Sign up for your FREE tennis activity here.
