The girls and I have had a fun filled afternoon after school today thanks to the BrainBoost box we received through the post this week!
Brainboost is a subscription box aiming to provide fun and engaging activities that children will adore getting stuck into but will also act as a useful educational tool that parents will also find really love.
The girls were super excited to get into their box.
When signing up to brainboost you need to choose from the preschool box 2-4 years, early school box 5-8 years or the school box 9-12 years what I like is there is also a siblings add on which means you aren’t paying out for two separate boxes – you pay a smaller fee and get enough for two.
We received a preschool box for Lottie and Bella and an early school box for Maisy.
I was so relived to see each activity separated into bags it meant we could have a quick browse the girls chose a couple that they liked the look of and the others can be saved for another drizzly afternoon.
All the bits you need for each activity are already provided which makes my life so much easier as I’m not searching high and low for extra bits and bobs that we need.
Every activity comes with a card for the adult to read with easy to follow instructions the only problem I had was three excited girls each wanting to try an activity at once.
Maisy and I loved this activity in a nutshell we stuck stickers to each side of the dice one was for a places, one for names etc and then you roll them and have to make a story about it! Maisy loves being creative so I can see a simple activity like this giving her hours and hours of fun. We talked about ways we could make it different next time like writing the stories down or drawing a picture about it.
I was a bit unsure on how Lottie would get on as there’s a big difference in a 2 and 4 year old but she loved getting stuck in and giving it all a try her favourite was Harry the bear we spent so long hiding and finding this little one!
We rounded off our Brainboosting session with a game of letter bingo – silly mummy wrote all the letters in capitals by accident which went down badly when all the letters on the card where in lower case! But hey it got them thinking about the different in lower case and uppercase so if anything I am helping them learn even more. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it anyway.
I have been so impressed with what the Brainboost boxes have to offer it’s a great way to reinforce what the children are learning at school from home and the best part is because it’s fun they don’t even realise they’re learning.
I know for me theres a ton of stuff I want to do with the kids at home when we have a spare couple of hours on the weekend but I often don’t really know where to start, by having these kinds of activities to hand you’re pretty much ready to go within a minute or two. The kids brains are getting some stimulation and you are getting that quality time together which is what it is all about really!
On that note Brainbox have kindly given all my readers a coupon code for an amazing 50% off your first box!
