A Christmas Wish

A Christmas Wish

Back in 2006 Pampers teamed up with UNICEF to launch their 1 pack = 1 vaccine campaign to help battle against new born and maternal tetanus. It may not be a disease you are familiar with but it affects families in some of the poorest areas of the world and occurs when newborns are infected as a direct result of unhygienic birthing practices. Once newborn tetanus has been contracted there is no real cure and it still claims the lives of 49,000 newborns every year, which is equivalent to one baby’s life every 11 minutes.

A shocking number, when I think back to my own birthing experience’s I really appreciate just how lucky we are here in the UK to have such amazing services available on the NHS.

For the 10th anniversary of the campaign which has seen to help newborn and maternal tetanus eliminated in 17 countries (amazing!!) pampers have one wish – to eliminate the disease EVERYWHERE, they have created a really cute film Wish and I am sharing my very own christmas wish for my girls this year.

This year will be the first that my girls really understand what is actually going on at christmas (they have only been talking about it since July). My one christmas wish for my girls is that they have a magical day that will stay with them forever, we are so lucky in that I can give them such a special day. I just want to see their beautiful smiles lighting up the room every minute of day, this past year has been hard on us all and despite my attempts to shield my babies from what’s going on around them it does still take it’s toll. For one day I just want it all to be forgotten and we have a day filled with lots of laughter and happiness.

What is your christmas wish for your little ones?

This post is written in collaboration with Pampers for every view this post receives, Pamper will donate the cost of three vaccinations; 1 blog post view = 3 vaccines. Please share and help with such an amazing cause.

Such a brilliant post. It is wonderful that you are supporting such a fabulous cause. It is amazing that one post view equals three vaccines. What an amazing act of Christmas generosity. And your Christmas wish for your girls is beautiful. I hope that wish comes true. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
