Who doesn’t love a good choccy bar, I have made no secret about my love of chocolate so when make a bar asked if I’d like to review a make a bar kit with the girls I didn’t have to think twice – for the kids obvs!
Not going to lie I was just excited for a bit of chocolate but was pleasantly surprised to find when we put it to the test it was also really fun for the kids to get a little creative.
Each pack comes with a choice of 8 stencils, so the kids just had to pick with kind of chocolate bar they’d like to create Maisy went for a butterfly and Bella chose a hedgehog (she would choose the hardest one wouldn’t she!) The instructions were really simple to follow, just pop the three packs of chocolate into some warm tap water to melt, I really liked that about it actually as there was no boiling hot water around the kids could do it all themselves.
I did have to refill with more hot water once as they milk chocolate didn’t want to melt but it might have had something to do with my impatient children who kept taking them out of the water every 30 seconds.
Step one was to trace over the lines with the dark chocolate, I did have to give a little help with this bit, then fill in the picture with white chocolate finally cover the whole thing with a layer of milk chocolate and leave to set in the fridge for half an hour.
Here is our finished result!
I know what you’re thinking – the best hedgehog chocolate bar you have ever seen? What can I say my talents are endless.
They really didn’t last long the kids got stuck straight in, I did manage to pinch a little bite and they were yummy.
I’m going to get a few more to stick in the cupboard as I think they’ll make a really quick simple rainy day activity for the girls, gives them a chance to be a little creative and there was no mess at all and they’re only £3.99 each so I’m a happy mumma!
