Blogging Conferences – What Do I Get From Them?

Last weekend I was up in London for a few fun events! The first was with Channel Mum to celebrate the launch of their brand new make up courses with Benefit. Second was the Next Blogger Network event and lastly was Britmums Live.

I came home on the Sunday feeling shattered but completely pumped and excited about blogging and vlogging again.

There has been a lot of mix reviews about Britmums Live this year; I will say I had a great time. Britmums kind of has a special meaning to me (as sad as this sounds) When I first started blogging in June 2014 I saw the buzz all over social about the event. Everyone seemed to be going and it sounded like the best thing since sliced bread. In my head I thought wow and my blogging goal was to one day be able to attend and meet some of the bloggers I adore. Three and a half years on and with my third Britmums now under my belt I can safely say it’s been ticked off that list.

My first Britmums was daunting I thought I would know who everyone was but they wouldn’t know me, I was scared it would be cliquey and I wouldn’t speak to anyone. I couldn’t have been more wrong; I had a blast and met some amazing people who I am lucky enough to call my friends today. I left with a note book full of tips and a head full of idea’s, it was amazing!

This year? I wont lie, I didn’t learn anything ground breaking. I have been doing this now for well over three years and have attended lots of different conferences but for me that’s not what I go to conferences for anymore. I am not a pro at what I do, I haven’t made a million or solved the ever changing puzzle that is Instagram success but I do okay. I go to these conferences to feel inspired, to see those who I may speak to every day but I might only see once a year. I go for the laughs and for me to come away wanting to write and feeling just as excited as I did after my first conference I would say that’s money well spent. Events such as these are all about what you make them.

I started blogging in January and only over the last two months have started to put more effort in. Over the last few weeks I’ve seen so many people I follow attend britmums and loads of other events. They do look so much fun. X

I agree, I didn’t learn loads, but it was such a good day to meet people I speak to everyday, form new relationships and gain some insight. Sorry we didn’t get to chat, next time! X

Aw lovely post. I so agree with what you say re conferences. I would definitely have been at Britmums this year if I wasn’t pregnant. The channel Mum Benefit event sounded lovely. I hope you had the most amazing time. It is lots of fun networking xx
