Our Summer Holiday Highlights

Today my girls have returned to school! The first school run back is always interesting isn’t it. I felt as though I had completely forgotten the protocol and what times they were all meant to be arriving. However we got through it, everyone was on time with matching shoes so that’s a win in my book.

That was until I got back to my car and saw a lovely flat tyre waiting for me. REALLY! A flat on the first day of school, as I sat waiting for the RAC to save the day and deliberating what I must have done in a previously life to deserve my run of bad luck I got to thinking about the summer holidays just gone and all the amazing memories we had made over the past 6 weeks.

Don’t get me wrong I had times when the ‘I’m bored’, “I’m hungry’ & ‘Bella just flicked me’ really got on my tits and I couldn’t wait to get them back to school but on the whole we had an absolute blast. In a bid to forget about my shit sham of a morning I wanted to share with you, our best bits of summer 2017..

Camp Bestival – Our holidays started with bang as the squad and I hit Camp bestival for three days of festival fun! Our first family camping experience and it was an amazing but drenched few days, did anyone mention that it rained at Camp Bestival this year?

Countryfile Live – Oh I love this event so bloody much, you can read about it more detail if you like but that day was a huge highlight for us all.

GoApe – Scott was home for the first three weeks of the holidays, we had a little date day to GoApe. Anyone who knows me will know I hate this kind of thing! I am a huge wimp – but I did it!!! And it was so much fun once I got into the swing of it. Pushing my boundaries and testing my self really helps me keep a lid on an ongoing battle with anxiety, I felt like I could achieve anything after this!

Watching Bella ride her bike! I was bursting with pride to watch my brave, determined little girl take off her stabilisers and ride away. If that girl sets her mind to something she will do it and bike riding was no different.

London – I still need to write this up actually (to do list is 3 miles long) I took the girls up to London for a random couple of nights away and we had such a blast on our little girls trip!

Almost getting blown off a cliff top with New Young Mum. You probably think that is an exaggeration but at the time we really thought it was game over. A freak storm rolled in on us out of nowhere as we walked along the cliff top at Lulworth, it had started out so beautifully as well! But once we had all changed into pjs, sipped on hot chocolate and dried out a little myself and Alice declared it a day we would never forget!

Portsmouth Historic Dockyards – Another day out yet to be written up (bad blogger) I didn’t know what to expect from this day out, I hadn’t heard a lot we were just invited along. The girls and I had the best day! With things to interest young and old I was so impressed by all it had to offer. When the post is live I will link but you can see more in our weekly vlog.

Which brings me on to the last one; Vlogging! I have been on youtube for a while now and uploading consistently for the last few months but it has only been in this summer holidays that I have truly fallen in love with vlogging. I filmed every single day in our summer and shared them in a weekly summer holiday diaries video, some people don’t get it ‘what’s so interesting about you’. But I have just loved watching the footage back, editing it all together and then having a little 10/15 minute film to look back on forever. The girls love it as much as I do and I can’t wait to do loads more!

What were your summer holiday highlights?
