When I was 18 I remember being absolutely certain one week that I was going to win the lottery, all week I just knew that it was my time. I had already spent it out in my head I saw myself booking a flight straight out of the country and going off on a big adventure. I told everyone I was going to win, Friday came I got myself a lucky dip just one that’s all I needed in my gut it was a sure thing.
Saturday morning came I did the old teletext to check my numbers (remember that bad boy) and I had only gone and won.. ten whole pounds. Obviously my dreams of a tropical get away were quickly snatched away from me but still I did win something, I have never had that strong feeling I would win since and subsequently haven’t won a thing.
For a couple of years after I had the girls I stopped playing the lottery all together I just forgot all the time. In a time where everything can be done online there is now no excuse, you’ve got to be in it to win it after all! I have been using LottoLand as you can do the Euro’s, Mega millions, the Power Ball even the Irish Lottery it makes it so easy to have it all in one place, and discover lotteries you may have never even heard of!
I am yet to have my big win but it doesn’t stop you dreaming right? Thinking of what you would do with all that cash! The way I would splash out has changed a fair bit since my late teens, back then it would have been flash car, holiday after holidays and whilst decked out in designer clothes, shoes and handbags.
Not to say those things wouldn’t be lovely but nowadays top of my list would be:
- A house – we rent so being able to buy a forever home and put our stamp on it would be the ultimate dream right now.
- A big family holiday – life is just non stop for us, I’d love to book a huge villa somewhere in the sun for all my family and close friends to enjoy a week (or two) with loads of delicious food, drink and a big old pool to splash about in!
- Put some savings away for each of the girls, boring but I would love to give them that little bit of a boost I never had, to buy their first home, see them through uni or even take them off travelling if they fancied it.
The odd designer handbag may also sneak in too but hey I am only human!
Do you play the lottery? What do you dream about spending the cash on?
