Beating the January blues

Christmas is over, the decorations are down. New years is a distant memory (too much champagne may have something to do with that) Are the January blues starting to set in for you?

January is one of my least favourite months every this year is proving to be no exception – the weather is horrible and I am broke so I need to make some plans to give myself something to look forward to and hopefully keep myself sane.
With funds stretched to the max from Christmas I have been having to think slightly further a field than ‘lets go for a few drinks so here goes..

  • Having a Tuscan themed dinner party. I so excited to be working with Tuscanery, a new subscription service which provides you with a tasting box full of Tuscan delights. I am super excited to put on a night with some friends this week and share it with you watch out for the post and check them out such a great service and a fab way to make a night in a little more special.
  • A pamper night. As much as I would love a spa day/weekend/week it isn’t feasible just now but a pamper night in with some friends and a nice bottle or 3 would be the next best thing, I am digging out the foot spa and I’m finding the face masks, January is all about relaxation.
  • Get stuck into a good boxset. Finding a series I love breaking bad, pretty little liars, gossip girl, the walking dead, homeland I could go on I am going to go Homeland I think I got to series 3 so I need to catch up.. I warn you if you try this one you will get addicted and January will pass in a few seconds.
  • Family DVD night. Popcorn, a disney film and snuggles with my princesses under a big fluffy blanket – perfection.
  • Party planning. I have Bella and Lottie’s birthday coming up fast, so planning a party for them will give us all something to look forward too.

So this is how I plan to beat the January blues! What will you be getting up to this month?

Great tips! That Tuscanery box sounds fab! It sounds like an odd way of beating the January blues but I intend to do lots of studying! Happy new year xx

I find the best way to beat the January blues is to book a holiday! I already have two booked though lol. The Tuscan themed party sounds great, I will have to check out the food box as I love reviewing these.

Fab ideas. My friend is expecting her 2nd baby any day now so I am concentrating on that at the moment. Also sorting out our bedroom & our son’s bedroom- waiting for furniture to be delivered today so I will have that to build. This is the first year for a while where I don’t feel like I have the January blues & I love it! 😀 xx

I hate January so I am always looking for ways to beat the January blues. These are all fabulous. The idea of a Tuscan inspired box is brilliant. And I can’t wait to hear all about your evening with friends. You’ll get to bring some of that Tuscan sun and warmth into your home. I am a big fan of the pamper evening too. And good luck organising Bella and Lottie’s birthdays. Hugs Lucy xxxx

This month for me is all about having a massive clear out of basically crap we have built up over the last 5 years! Maybe in February I can relax and have a nice pamper party!

I am glad to see I am not the only one who loves Gossip Girl or Pretty Little Liars

Ooh I’m loving the sound of the Tuscan themed dinner party, how fabulous! We have watched a couple of DVDs over the past few days, it’s the first time in ages that we’ve done anything like that and it was lovely to relax and spend the evening in front of the TV without the laptop!x

Love the sound of having a tasting box. 🙂
January can be so gloomy – I’m planning to have a clear out but even that sounds boring.
