Spring is here and what a time for bit of spring cleaning, having a big clear out and clean up always makes me feel great (once it’s finished anyway) Spring always makes me want to just declutter and get everything sparkling.
I’m taking part in the #OUSTmyhouse campaign, OUST have sent me out one of their kits filled with a range of descalers which are quick, easy-to-use and ideal for ousting even the nastiest limescale from the home. Now I know limescale isn’t the nicest of subjects but with 70 per cent of the country experiencing hard water, limescale is one of the most common household nuisances. What’s more, it can reduce the lifespan of your favourite appliances, making it an expensive issue to.
Unfortunately I fall into that 70% and know only too well how much of a pain lime scale is, it particularly bugs me around taps I spend ages getting them sparkling and its back within a day or two!
Here’s my #OUSTyourhouse cleaning kit – How cool are those gloves I love them.
I just sprayed the Limescale remove spray – left it for a couple minute’s, it smelt a lot better than the usually heaps of bleach I use and then wiped away using the rough side of a sponge, it brought up lovely and shiny. If I was really going for it I would of gotten out an old tooth brush to get in all the niggely bits – but I didn’t really feel it needed it today!
OUST have also given me some of their top cleaning tips to share:
- For reaching nooks and cranny’s, try using blu-tack to clean computer keyboards or hard to reach areas on appliances
- Using fabric softener sheets inside shoes or under seats in cars covers up and prevents bad smells
- To remove rust from the inside of a dishwasher pour 1/4 cup of orange juice inside and run a regular cycle
- Baby wipes are miracle workers on carpet stains, from motor oil to blood, they remove almost anything
I have to say I agree on the baby wipes one I love using them to clean. My top tip would be using the magic eraser sponges’ you can pick these up almost anywhere supermarkets ect they’re so cheap and when used with a product like OUST they will clean anything and I am not exaggerating they’ll even get crayon off walls – if you have toddlers you’ll feel my pain on that one!
