Blog update – Health and Fitness

I  thought I would just give a quick update on all the going’s on in my little corner of the tinternet!

If you haven’t noticed Everything Mummy has had a big make over and I’ve gone self hosted eeeeek, I’ve squeaked alot in anticipation of this which may sound rather ridiculous to some but this little blog means an awful lot it me! It was all down the the website designing genius that is Jo over at The Geek Fairy I would love to take credit for this but it was all her, she really has done a fantastic job I’m so pleased with how its turned out.

While deciding to make the big move I spent a lot of time thinking up new idea’s for the blog one of those was the create a section for Health and Fitness.  I am by no means and expert at these things which is precisely why I wanted to start writing about it – my biggest goal for 2015 was to get fit and healthy and start creating new healthier lifestyle habits I talked about it in my post making changes. I’ve wanted to do this ages its going to be my way for me to share and document the new things I am trying, healthy recipes I attempt and how they go down with the family, finding alternatives and trying work outs that fit around family life. I’ll be sharing with you what works for me and what doesn’t  in a hope it will encourage me to stick at it and push myself to try new things, if anyone would like to join me on this I would love it! Each week I’m going to set a new challenge for myself and I’ll update you with how its all been going along the way!

Health &Fitness-2

Easing my self in gradually this weeks challenges are going to be –

  1. Drink 2 litres of water everyday.
  2. Get out for a run – I have not been for a run since last summer!

Here goes! I’ll update you with how I’ve gotten on and set some new challenges next week – If you would like to challenge me I would love to hear some ideas in the comment!

Great idea setting a couple of small challenges. I easily get through 2 litres of water a day, and then spend the rest of the time in the loo! #sundaystars

I should really take some inspiration from these fitness goals, I’m ok with water think I probably drink enough but the exercise side is severely lacking; the thought of running would never happen!! P.s love the design you worked soooo hard 😉 hehe. I do love the blog design looks fab, and love the idea of this section of your blog. thanks for linking up!! #MummyMonday xxx

Amy I’m in awe!! This is a fabulous idea. And I love how you’re planning to do it in baby steps almost – I have absolute faith in you and can’t wait to hear updates!! Plus I might have to follow suit!! You can be my personal trainer!! Xxxxx

    The blog looks lovely!
Good luck with your weekly goals. I have done something very similar this week, I found that setting a big goal it can be hard to lose your way but smaller more achievable goals are a better idea. Looking forward to seeing how you get on x

Such a great idea! Count me in! The older I get the more I’m realising just how important good health is.

Will definitely join you on the water challenge but will have to leave the running one for now (as I did my back in last week so am hobbling about – boo hoo).

Btw – my husband downloaded a water reminder app on his phone the other week and he swears by it. It sends him reminders throughout the day that he needs to drink water which is genius I reckon! Anyway just thought I’d mention it to you! xxx

P.S Big well done on the blog change too, it looks great! Brands tend to prefer self hosted blogs so even though it was scary, believe me, it will be worth it :)

The redesign looks fab! You must be over the moon.

I used to drink loads of water but sometimes I’ll leave the house with Gwenn in the morning and realise I haven’t touched a drop. Must try harder!

What a brilliant idea to set small challenges! Well done YOU!
I also find that I have to remind myself to drink the 2 litres of water – I’ve recently bought myself a filtered water bottle which I carry around & refill as I go …it’s been the best thing I’ve done!

Looking forward to the updates on your challenge1

And the blog redesign is stunning!

Thank you for linking at #AllAboutYou where I’m co-hosting with the lovely Mama_andmore.

Maybe you exercise to tone your thighs, build your biceps, or flatten your belly. Or maybe you work out to ward off the big killers like heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. But how about sweating to improve your mind? Exercise is the single best thing you can do for your brain in terms of mood, memory, and learning.
