Christmas 2014 hits and misses

Christmas 2014 is soooo last year.. (sorry couldn’t resist) but yes it is well and truly over the bins are still over flowing with unnecessary packaging the kids have already lost half a puzzle they received and at last count 3 toys are either broken or ran out of batteries ALREADY, should of listened to that smart arse Duracell bunny.

As every year there has been some big hits and misses on the toy front, not that the kids aren’t appreciative of all there gifts there are just as always certain things that they play with non stop and some things that get no attention at all!

Hits

Baby Annabell and baby George we’ve had twins woo can I please now join in with multiple madness!?
George and Annabell have been huge hits and definitely what the girls have played with the most, they love looking after them I think its from watching me with Lottie they love playing the mummy, so cute!

‘its been a hard night’

Elsa and Anna dressing up costumes! As we knew they would Maisy has pretty much lived in her Elsa dress which I don’t mind makes a change from her getting changed 10 times a day and creating me a ton of washing!

How cute are my little Anna and Elsa!

Leap frog tea pot set, This we bought for Lottie we had a similar fisher price version for Maisy what she was younger which she loved so I had high hope for this toy and was not disappointed it has been a real hit. Lottie will sit for ages just opening and closing the lid or playing with the cake, as she gets older it will be great for introducing colours and counting.

Misses

Tinker bell sky high, we bought the kids one each and one still hasn’t even come out of the packaging. Call me a hypochondriac but on first try with it the things almost took Bella’s eye out so I’m not keen on it! A toy I think for older children and more suitable for the garden unless you like marks on the ceiling.

Vtech Bear it may just be me but I just don’t get it its sings sometimes other times it just makes this annoying beeping noise Lottie does like it, I’m just being a scrooge its so bloody annoying!

Playdoh ice cream maker, my kids love playdoh – all kids love play doh right I though this would be great and they did enjoy it the first time, but its just flimsy and definitely not at all like the advert they are better off just with the playdoh creating there own master pieces this was properly my biggest disappointment.

So they are are big hits and misses of christmas 2014.

What are yours?

Love the picture of them in their dresses, I wish I had bought an Anna costume for when L is older now. Maybe I will try and keep my eyes peeled for one! Not too many misses for you, at least you didn’t get ‘that’ playdoh set hahaha! x

My two are older now so my son’s favourite is an electronic set, whilst my daughter likes her smartphone (she’s 12). Misses – books at the moment which is very sad, they need to get back into reading.

Tinker bell looks scary! Harry would love it though – aiming it at Lottie 😉 Great post. Some of our presents have been a right flop, and the stuff I didn’t think they’d love much was a hit! Kids!! LOL 😉 Jess x

Great to share your hits and misses. Anything Frozen was a hit in our house this year! I refuse to buy playdough (bad mummy!) so glad to see it was a miss #TheList

It’s always really helpful to see what other people’s views are on various toys. Anything to help others avoid the ‘oh no that was a bad move’ purchase! Thank you x
