The Toddler years; what an awesome time, not a care in the world no bills, no housework, they don’t even have to worry about school or homework yet. They wake each day to play, most (mine included) have their parents wrapped round their little finger because lets face it they’re so fricken cute! How i wish i could go back to living the life of a toddler..
Firstly; as a toddler you can leave the house in a tiara, with fairy wings and a wand and its deemed cute, not odd people don’t look at you like you’ve lost the plot, they’ll smile and tell you how adorable you look.
Second; birthday parties are so much more fun when you are a toddler, you get bouncy castles, soft play, magic shows, huge balloons and more sugar than is probably legal, amazing cakes that are covered in glitter and a everyone makes a huge fuss of you’ve big day! Then theres the party bags even if its not actually your birthday you get a little bag of tat to take away its great! Nowadays my birthday lasts around an hour and then i have to get on with everyday mummy duties, wheres my tinkerbell cake?
Thirdly as mentioned above toddlers have a magical power and can wrap anyone round there little finger with a oh so angelic smile and if that fails a hug is sure to be a winner. These little masters of manipulation know how to play it and they play it well! In my girls case its if mums says no – go to dad he’s an absolute push over.
And finally the energy they seem to exhume is just incredible my daughter spends 80% of her day just dancing around the room or practically bouncing off the walls. I hoover the lounge and need a coffee break. But being a toddler if they do become tired as the sometimes do-usually when your in a hurry trying to get somewhere, they are perfectly in there right to demand to be carried. Everywhere. While you push the pushchair. With one hand.
